The MKxx54GSY Series is Toshiba's top-of-the-line, 7,200 RPM hard disk drive which spans capacities ranging from 80GB up to 320GB. Combining superior quality and performance, the MKxx54GSY is particularly suited for data intensive and productivity sensitive applications such as multimedia, mobile workstation, gaming, entertainment as well as high performance laptops, printers and other office systems. Power efficient, usage of the MKxx54GSY can reduce operating power consumption by as much as 70% compared to even the most power conservative 3.5-inch hard drives, without compromising valuable storage space.
The MKxx54GSY also features a new, environmentally enhanced component design which decreases or eliminates the use of hazardous or controversial chemical substances such as antimony trioxide, BFR (brominated flame retardant), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), red phosphorous as well as chlorine and bromine. The MKxx54GSY products support a 3 Gb/sec data transfer rate and have passed testing by the Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) for SATA interoperability.
